Transport for London is the authority responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Capital's public transport network, and managing London's main roads.
As well as being responsible for over 30 million journeys every day, we're also one of London's largest land owners. We own a 5,700 acre estate that includes land and properties with huge potential for creating the homes and jobs that the Capital needs. Our land can play a vital role in meeting the Mayor's priorities to build affordable homes, and our ambitious programme offers an exciting opportunity to build homes and communities around the transport hubs where people want to live and work.
With our ambitious programme of house building we are recruiting right across the construction sector, and provide training opportunities for those wishing to enhance their skills and qualifications or start a new career.
Transport for London (TfL) will be developing 10,000 new homes across the Capital over the next ten years. To help us build these homes, we will need over 7,000 construction workers across our supply chain, with a similar skills demand on our infrastructure projects too.
This is an exciting opportunity for Londoners to start their career in the construction industry or re-join the sector, and we want to help you on your journey.
We are working in partnership with industry and government through the Construction Skills Fund to offer fully-funded pre-employment programmes to give people a taste of construction and provide key skills and training to join the construction industry. This training is aligned to skills demands on TfL projects and on projects with our employer partners, with training offered in civils and demolition, multi-skilling, formwork, drylining and scaffolding across our three onsite learning hubs in East London, South London and West London.
